John E. Ritzert, Jr. handles matters involving estate planning (including wills, trusts, general powers of attorney, and advance medical directives), estate administration, corporate and business law, and taxation.
John is also a certified public accountant, receiving his B.A. and M.B.A from Virginia Tech, M.A. (Accounting) and J.D. from Catholic University of America, and LL.M. (Taxation) from Georgetown University Law Center.
He counsels individuals and families in handling wills, trusts and estate planning; works with all forms of businesses in their formation and operations, asset sales and acquisitions and business mergers; and also advises not-for-profit organizations. John volunteers for various community organizations, including present and past service as a board member of the Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation, Spotlight on the Arts, Workforce Investment Board, SkillSource Group, Inc., Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), Celebrate Fairfax!, Leadership Fairfax, and the MBA Advisory Board to the Pamplin School of Business of Virginia Tech.
John is admitted to practice law in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, and many Federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the U.S. Tax Court.
