With more than 45 years of legal experience, I focus my practice on a broad range of business law, estate planning, and trusts and estates matters. Over the course of my career, my practice has evolved to meet the changing needs of individuals, families, and business owners, while maintaining a consistent emphasis on practical solutions and long-term planning.
My business law practice includes representing both new and established companies in all aspects of their operations, from entity selection and formation to drafting and negotiating contracts with vendors, customers, and co-owners. I also assist clients with the purchase and sale of businesses, including medical and dental practices, as well as the financing of those transactions. In addition, I advise on business ownership transitions, including disputes and “business divorces” involving the separation and unwinding of closely held corporations and limited liability companies.
In the estate planning area, I work with clients to design and implement comprehensive plans tailored to their individual and family goals. This includes the preparation of wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, advance medical directives, living wills, and other related documents.
My practice also includes probate and trust administration, guiding personal representatives and trustees through every stage of the process—from qualification and required filings with the probate court and Commissioner of Accounts to tax filings, accountings, hearings, and final distribution to beneficiaries. I also handle the administration of testamentary trusts, trusts created under revocable trust instruments, and life insurance trusts.
In addition, I represent clients in adult guardianship and conservatorship matters, including filing petitions, obtaining court appointments, complying with ongoing reporting requirements, handling tax obligations, and working with court-appointed guardians ad litem as needed.
