Experience

Overview

Ursula has represented community associations in Virginia and Maryland for over 20 years.  Her clients range from very small (7 homes) to very large (3000+ homes) and are located all over both states. In her practice, Ursula has assisted community associations with various issues, including:

  • Amending governing documents, including Plats, Declarations, Bylaws and Architectural Guidelines.
  • Providing a training to boards and committees to ensure good governance.
  • Filing lawsuits in General District (VA) and Circuit Court to compel compliance with association documents.
  • Filing and defending complaints with the Montgomery County Commission on Common Ownership Communities (CCOC).
  • Negotiating service and construction contracts.
  • Defending associations in Fair Housing complaints.

 

Ursula has also qualified as an expert witness on community associations in the US Bankruptcy Court for Maryland.
